Pros and Cons for Viair 70p and 85p

Before we deliver the final verdict we will present some pros and cons of the 70p and 85p.

The Viair 70p:

Pros

  • Great value for money and saves you constantly having to go to a gas station and pay for air
  • It is made from quality materials, not plastic
  • It isn’t as loud as other heavy-duty compressors

Cons

  • It has been known to blow the car fuse

The Viair 85p

Pros

  • It is really efficient, inflating tires by about 5psi in under a minute
  • The LED light is a nice touch and it comes on as soon as you turn the compressor on.
  • The pressure gauge reads very accurately

Cons

  • It doesn’t seem to have a life expectancy of more than around 2 years, and that is not with excessive use

The Final Verdict

It is a close call as both have rather individual advantages. The 85p works very well and is nice and quiet. The LED light is useful but we can definitely live without it. The machine is made of metal, which makes it feel nice and sturdy, not like others that are made of plastic, however the same can be said for the 70p. The 70p is also very strong and efficient. It is also much better value for money. Both have their negatives but it is easier to resolve the fuse blowing than the short life span. For this reason, we feel that the Viair 70p is the overall winner.
